My major issue with this book is HOW privileged the author is. I know she can't help it and all, but I'm so used to books of this time period being about the scarcity of food, and not about what Escoffier was serving that day for breakfast. I have to adjust my expectations in a HUGE way.

This is my dinning room reading, but I brought it into the studio to deep dive into Wiki and the fun Welsh tidbits she's talking about.

This book is a pleasure to read, so far, and is both very fast paced, and quite sedately ushering me along. It's the kind of book where you pace yourself to make it last longer.

Someday I'll make it through this book.

Really good, but seriously depressing. White people suck.
