Thinking about how I view myself and my appearance quite a bit ever since picking up this book 🥺

Jessamine is getting on my nerves - to be honest if I were living in her kingdom I wouldn't have cared if she'd lived or died because she is so...clueless. Elric's chapters are much more enjoyable.

I'm settling in the story a little more and I enjoy the dynamic between Jessamine and the Deathless One; it's quite funny how they take turns to rage-bait each other.

World building and the details of how magic works are still fuzzy which breaks the immersion for me...

I think the writing is not working for me. The world building also feels paper-thin. I'll give it a few more chapters before deciding whether to DNF.

The trouble about finishing a really good fantasy series is that anything that comes after it feels subpar. Maybe I should have waited a little while before starting The Deathless One 🫣

My heart is literally in my throat! Hoping that my faves survive but with about 100 pages left there's so much that could still happen.

I'm rooting for the demon at this point because the main characters are so annoying.

The FMC is stupid beyond belief.

The first thing her gargoyle boyfriend tells her is to not use his true name or it'll attract demons and what does she do? CALL HIM BY HIS TRUE NAME, OUT LOUD, 10000 TIMES.

I hope the demon gets her. Might DNF.

Summer's mum is SO ANNOYING. Wish the demon would take her instead.

Loved the writing of the battle scenes! Approaching the last third of this book and I'm bracing myself for more deaths.
