I’ve never related to a character so quickly like Jess. LOVE Orla and Simon. Not the biggest fan of Raya…

Was able to slip back into this world just fine from a long break after reading the first book!

Curious to see what they’re going to find on the island - so far the pacing is keeping up pretty well!

I find it super interesting how the magic systems work. Or at least learning more how they will work as the story progresses.

The whole crash course done between Lily and Ethan makes my heart so so happy. I thoroughly enjoy seeing them come out of their shells and start bridging that gap. And all of the characters of the town interacting together warms my sole. And seeing Ethan really focus on Lily and pay attention to how she acts and who she is really goes to show that he genuinely cares for her. Ugh, I love it.

I love that Lily is a little fashionista with the upmost confidence in her craft. I understand the vulnerability of wanting to belong some place but not really knowing how to. I’m looking forward to seeing that story development.

While Ethan is the grumpy book shop owner, I get it. He has a lot of responsibility on his plate while missing his dad. I’m hoping Lily can get him smiling again.

Lilia and Devryck finally have gotten through the tension. But if Devryck keeps pushing Lilia away, I’m going to lose my mind.

I also find it interesting that the black rock is a component to finding the cure.

Also, why is Spencer so crazy? I don’t understand his motives but he’s erratic and I don’t dig that…

Getting to know the background of Devryck makes me feel so bad about his upbringing and how much of a piece of crap his father was. And all these pieces are starting to connect for everyone - I love it when that happens!

So, we’re already hitting with the gruesome death of Lilia’s mom… cool cool cool. And then Devryck provides all the red flags when reading from his perspective. But I’m sucker for dark academia so let’s see how this plays out

I am LOVING the background of both characters and their lives. I’m looking forward to seeing how each characters backgrounds unfold with only being on Chapter 7. I adore the Bridgerton vibes I get while reading this when discussing “the Season” and the gossiping that occurs. Ah, I’m so happy with how this is going so far!

Thank GOD Diana is finally opening up to Samkiel and allowing others to care about her. And Samkiel is being such a support system for her. 🥲

Diana is gradually having her walls cracking.. very very slow but surely. I’m also happy she likes Logan and his wife because I really enjoy Logan’s personality.

I can see Diana’s defenses go down a little bit with Samkiel.. thank god.

It breaks my heart to see Dianna hurt as much as she is. In turn, she’s hurting Samkiel which makes my heart hurt for him. He just wants to love her and help through this process but she is grieving too hard and can’t see through it. I hope she gets to the other side.
