This is just a story about a girl who literally hates her body so much she will do anything to disfigure it.

Mentally handicapped young girl struggling with body dismorphia to the point of major self harm is encouraged by everyone around her to engage in destructive and dehumanising behaviour….this is looking like it’s going to be a DNF.

Got into this believing the one liner hook of “it’s a mix between Midsommar and Alien”. I’ve legit had to look up the author to check if they are ultra right wing because of the fear-mongering of trans people with simultaneous infantilisation and sexual abuse towards the main character. Literally do not understand what this book is getting at right now other than pregnancy is scary?
