Ch. 1-7:
I have absolutely no clue WTF is happening. I had thought that the sequel would be less confusing, as I have some context for the world - but noooooo; Now even the narration isn't consistent and time is very screwy...

ch. 25:
HOLY SHIT. WTF WAS THAT????
Who has it out to all the nicest people??? First it was the Fifth, now the Fourth?? My sweet children did not deserve this.
ALSO WHAT THE FUCK IS WRITING ON THE WALLS WITH BLOOD?? IS IT A GHOST? WHAT. THE. FUCK.

ch. 22-24:
I finally have a good grasp on each house:
II- pompous military assholes with a superiority complex
III- The rich kids, with a very weird dynamic between the three of them
IV - Clearly more competent than their age suggests but seem to be good kids.
V - DEAD (sobs)
VI - The nerds, basically the Ravenclaw of Dominicus
VII - Weird af but seem to be fine
VIII - Priest class, absolutely the worst

Ch. 20-21:
Why the fuck is Gideon being so obedient?? What did she see the night Harrow killed her parents, and why the fuck is the seventh so mysterious?? So many questions...
Oh and why does everyone other than Gideon seem to know each other, but simultaneously deny they do?? Wtf? It really feels like Gideon is uniquely singled out, but it could just be our perspective...

Ch. 17-19:
What, the fuck, is happening. There is so much to keep track of! And now this timeless room, possibly the room of the original second house Lycter? Also, I can't help but notice that the Ninth did NOT ask permission from Teacher to enter this locked room like they ought to...

Ch 15-16:
Okay!! The girls are getting along, we're even seeing sparks of romance perhaps?? Also they fucking mind melded which one could argue is the purest form of intimacy.
I wonder if Harrow will be jealous seeing how Dulcinea looks at Gideon...

Side note (spoiler warning):
Why did they have to kill my favorite cavalier?? RIP Magnus the Fifth :(

Ch 12-14:
Okay!! Stuff is finally picking up! We got down to the abandoned lab, with BOTH girls, fought a horrifying bone construct, I'm definitely hooked now!

Ch. 9-11:
I'm definitely intrigued by the myriad of characters but honestly having a bit of trouble keeping them all straight. I should probably check out that document Morgan sent me that (I think) has an outline of the characters.

Ch. 7-8:
Oh wow, things are really picking up now! We have arrived at the First House and received the setup for the story!
The description of the First House was beautiful and Teacher is the most suspicious character thus far. That said, I love the "Idk what you need to do, you might die, and you can't leave - but have fun!!" attitude.

Ch. 3-6:
Things are picking up!
I more or less understand what is happening, though the language is difficult at times and the complexity of the world building is a little staggering. Nonetheless I am very curious to continue!

Ch. 2:
I have NO idea what's happening, really. But The Lady of the Ninth is scary in the creepy princess kind of way - and she can animate the dead, literally!!

Ch. 1:
Well, this is my first time reading a book from a non American author, and I can TELL. It'll take some getting used to, but for me it kinda adds to the normal but yet alien vibe I get for the world of The Locked Tomb.
So far I LOVE Gideon, she's hilarious. And the world is very intriguing. I was surprised to find out it's a spacefaring civilization!

ch 37-52:
What a good ending!
Leo rocked, Annabeth's quest was horrifying and trapping Arachne in a Chinese finger-trap of her own creation was genius. Percy and Jason working together was satisfying, and Nico is back!!
OH AND PERCY & ANNABETH FELL INTO TARTARUS, WHAT??
We have a full month until they end of HOO, but I can't imagine they'll be down there for so long, right??

Chapters 31-36:
We have arrived in Rome!! Percabeth had a brief but short date, and Annabeth has begun her horrifying quest, which of course we cut away from just before the battle with Arachne...

Ch 17-30:
Damn, every God in this world absolutely sucks. No surprise Hercules is a bitter self-important duche.
I'm happy we finally got to the point in the book where the crew trust each other and started sharing everything instead of causing unnecessary trouble by hiding shit.
We've only almost reached Rome, and we're more than half way through the book already.. and they're like one more day in universe...

13-16 (Percy):
The aquarium was very disturbing, excited to see how and when Percy comes back to destroy it. Hedge finally got some action! 10/10.

Chapters 9-12 (Piper POV):
I find Piper's unending self doubt kind of tiring, but she pulled a lot of weight in these chapters regardless!
So, piper presented us with 3 visions, 2 of which immediately happened! Including the one in the cover (Percy and Jason fighting)
The Percy/Jason main character conflict is pretty funny, they're such boys.
So far, other than the first few chapters, this book is kind of meh for me.

Chapters 7-8:
The more I read, the more I realize how much I like Leo. His external embrace of being "crazy" and wild, contrasted with his internal struggle to fit in, being a 3rd, or 7th, wheel - it's something I relate to a lot.
The tention between Hazel and Leo is interesting, we haven't really had complicated romance in this series.... Interested to find out the Sammy/Leo thing..

Chapters 1-6:
Let's see...
Percabeth's reunion was perfect - body slamming Percy is a very genuine sign of affection.
Percy's and Jason's first collaboration being telling off Octavian is the best possible scenario. Loved it.
Reyna and Annabeth have a lot in common, no surprise, I wish they'll have more chances to interact.
The union of Greek and Roman fails, Hera is on the run, and we meet Nemesis!!

The Son of Magic:
It is so cool Rick let his son add a story to this world that was originally created for him!
Haley's style is clearly different, but honestly this story was pretty good! The main character is a prick, but it was done very well that you still felt bad for him! The concept was very good.

Leo Valdez and the Quest for Buford :
I had not realized how much I missed Leo. Because I don't really like Jason and Piper, and TLH was kinda Meh, but I REALLY like Leo. He might be my favorite demigod.

The Staff of Hermes:
It was nice to have a Percy and Annabeth story, they are so rarely alone..
But really, any interaction with George and Martha is a 10/10, true VISs.

The diary of Luke Castellan:
Honestly? Interesting story and a meaningful addition to the reason Luke resents the gods. RIP Hal Green.

Chapters 49-52:
HOLY SHIT - THE FINAL BATTLE WAS INSANEEEEEEE
Most epic battle in the series thus far
And I'm sooo hyped for the Greeks arriving to Camp Jupiter.
Side notes:
1. Jason and Reyna reuniting when Jason has a girlfriend is gonna be awkward as shit...
2. I did NOT expect Leo to be related to Sammy, complete shock.

Chapters 47-48:
I have only one thing to say - Frank is POPPING OFF, MAN. HELL YEAH.

Chapters 43-46:
Ok, this is AWESOME.
Arion's moves to get there, the scenery, the description of Thanatos, and the FIGHT.
FRANK FINALLY USED HIS POWERS!!!
(Read on the plane until I got an intense headache and couldn't continue 🫠)

Chapters 40-42:
Finally read again 😭
Currently sitting by the pool in Italy, having a great time!
Very close to the climax of the book. I'm excited!

Chapters 37-39:
I love the hyperborians just chilling in the woods, giants walking around Alaska being completely ignored.
Percy starting to remember things is heartbreaking - talking to Tyson through the dream, leaving a message to Sally... Excited that he's getting his memories and that we can stop beating around the Greek bush, tho..

Chapters 34-35:
Frank's last conversation with his grandmother was heartbreaking! But the action in these chapters are great!!
Got two bits of prophecy from Ella, one for this book and one for the next, seemingly. Very curious how Percy is planning to send a "friend" to get Ella to Camp Jupiter... Maybe he remembered Grover and the empathy link? Or counting on Tyson? But neither of them knows where the camp is...

Chapters 34-35:
Once again Mars proves to be much more likable (and useful) than Ares..
And by now it is VERY clear Frank's gift is wildshape, exciting to see what he turns into to fight the ogers - I bet either elephant or boar.
