I tried, I really did: to watch the new PJO series, but come on, it was so bad I could not stomach any more episodes.

Wasn't planning on re-reading this anytime soon but I had to, to reinforce how good these books actually are and how off they are on the characters. It's ridiculous how they keep messing this up, this is not a hard series to adapt!

Such an unexpected read. And so breathtaking.

I hit a paragraph where the author took a painstaking amount of evidence to highlight how the Hmong are 'unusually attentive parents' and proceeded to compare them to Caucasian parents.

The measuring stick is white normalcy, and the Hmong are unusual. This is the common thread throughout what I've read so far. I've always been wary of white authors writing about 'exotic' minorities, but I expected more.

So B. K. Borison just gets better with every book, epic.

Everytime I pick this up, it's like taking a cold plunge.

The way I burst into tears constantly cause people being passionate about sports is the one thing that makes me bawl.

Attempted to start three other romances, couldn't even get through the first chapter, the writing was so bad; this is leagues better.
