I hope this kicks into gear because this is reading like the thesis of an unhinged college kid just with really good grammar and fairly large words (old timey eloquence pleas send help)

Noooo you were homies for like 3/4 of the book don’t be getting all mopey and jealous now that she’s in love with your bestie. This was supposed to be a true homies book not a unrequited love book

This is unique. Friendship but real and therefore hard and with goods times and bad times and really big fights lol

The utter absence of quotation marks in this book is, at minimum, an inconvience and a war crime at worst

Ok, seriously. How many different ways can gods find to kill or absorb people with sex and why do I have to read about it in violent detail

Oh so all of Marie Lu’s protagonists are beautiful and prodigal young women secretly infiltrating the bad boy’s organization. Lot of similarities to the Legend series

Ok… First of all, this book is heresy against mead. Secondly, holy hells is this kinda dark and messed up. Which makes a lot of sense. But Neil Gaiman and Freud would probably be best buddies, just saying

Oh boy… interestingly conceived magic system and the misogyny and racism of the setting society has me frothing at the mouth for the main characters to win… but oh my god this protagonist is too damn THIRSTY! Like, girl, do your work and stop slavering over how your assistant smells and outing yourself as indoctrinated to the oppressor viewpoint lmao

There is a random and small stranded-on-a-cannibal-island arc for no discernible reason??? No thank you

I am unsure if this book so far… how many subspecies of human is a guy supposed to keep track of?
