Quarantine has been GREAT for reading, I have a backlog of about 6 books that I've finished but am too lazy to review atm. And I want to review because I'll want to remember what I thought about them years later. Hoping that writing this out will motivate me to write something... maybe tomorrow!

I had gotten as far as the introduction. I remember that it said something along the lines of "this book has found its way into your life, and it could just as easily leave because it has a mind of its own". Well damn, I cannot find that book anywhere! I'm pretty sure I brought it?

Holy cow this book is long. I'm audioing this one and it's nice to listen to in the background while I'm folding laundry etc. I love spacing out to Simon Vance's voice. The story is fine but I definitely couldn't read this with my eyes.

It's hard to listen to this while eating. But so fascinating.

I'm loving this so far. I keep comparing it to Gut, and I think it's not as cute (no funny illustrations) but the writing and research is great. Also Mary Roach is such a sassy lady. Another EWZ audio book.

A detective novel narrated by Emily Woo Zeller, the same lady who did magical tidying. AND the main character is Chinese American. Can this book not be a winner? I like the snappy dialogue. Also, EWZ can do accents!

I've finally updated the operating system on my phone and I can download audio books again. Yes!

Finally! The Council of Elrond is over and they're doing stuff again. What a struggle.

So far I love this book! I'm sorry I spent so many years of my life not having read it. And I didn't know that Merry and Pippin had personalities (Pippin's a bit of a jerk). Re: T Bombadil, it's nice that I don't already know everything because I'd watched the movies first. Also, my partner is a crazy man who has memorized the map of middle earth.

I'm so excited about reading this book!

Ack I need to put the brakes on this one until I have time to obsess over it. Perhaps this weekend? It's way too intense. So worried for Samuel.

I just realized both novels I'm currently reading are set in California! :-O

Some books came for me at the library!

Do I have an obsession with intestines? Maybe! I don't care. I'm learning a lot from this book and I'm only a couple chapters in. It's a one week loan from the library so I have to read this fast!

In the near darkness Bernard notices that everyone around him drinking Bloody Marys. Blood-colored glimmers blinking from every glass.

Holy shit this book is really intense!

Okay this is weird. I am reading my second book in a row that takes place in Holland featuring a main character named Theodore. How coincidental!

So far: guy feels sorry for self, writes letters to everyone he knows while on drugs. The style is reminiscent of Daniel Handler in Adverbs, which makes it readable for me.

Ruth Ozeki! My favourite Zen Buddhist priest author. I will read all her books.
