Oh wow… this book got real good real quick! Way better than the first book, and we’re only half way through?! I honestly want to keep reading but it’s 2 am so…

A couple of things rushed here and there, and I’m not sure I see a point in 3 page chapters, but the story is going great! I’m still cringing at some interactions, but not most of them!

Oh boy, I can’t wait to hear Violet complain that Xaden dated someone before her 🫩

I really liked the plot twist with Aaric. I thought the interrogation section was anticlimactic and it was obvious they were going to break out. I think Dain is going to die by the end of this book. If not this book, he’s gonna die but in some way will make up for his betrayal? And when he does I still won’t like him.

Does she really think he doesn’t love her? Can I say this is lazy writing? He literally said he won’t have sex till she says she loves him because he wants that. OBVIOUSLY implying he loves her. Hello?

I think Varrish’s secret signet is mind reading or something. Even though it’s not allowed, I think that’s the twist? Idk

Dude… get a room! Wait they have a room, go there! Side note, I think by the end of the book, Tairn is gonna gobble up Varrish.

It’s not funny, but also Nadine’s death was out of no where and made me laugh. I kinda knew she was gonna die eventually, but damn what a way to go out…

New theory: violets not gonna get her power until really late.

I’m curious to see if they’re trying to pit Xaden and Dain against each other as a love triangle for Violet, but Dain doesn’t really stand a chance so I hope not. (Also I called the black dragon pairing)

I know Dain’s looking out for her, but he’s just becoming really annoying to me.

Quick theory. I’m sure there’s gonna be some twist revealing a prophesy for Violet. That’s probably why her mom forced her into the Riders.

So far it’s not bad, lots of fun world building. The last chapter ended pretty cringey, but I hope it doesn’t carry through the rest of the book.
