Soooo she has a designated reading chair, and enough books to fill a library…I’m so over authors forcing fmc’s to be readers. I don’t care 😂

Deceased parents, taken in by a crime lord, forced to work until she repays her debt

Sooo basically the same set up as ToG? 🤦🏻‍♀️

I searched up the ending 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

He…teaches her to…dance…really?

I get teaching her to fight. But no. To dance.

This just feels like a waste of everyone’s time 😂

I’ve been wanting to read this book for ages…but now that I have…I’m so disappointed

I don’t like it 😂

I don’t care about the sister

I’ve only read 1 chapter with who I assume is the mmc…he’s already icked me out (just by existing)

The plot

The writing

It all feels so juvenile (yes, I get it’s a YA book but still..)

Why do I feel like I’ve gone back to GCSE history?? The war of the roses?? Lancasters vs Yorks?? Really??

I don’t like it when books base their stories on real life events 😂😂

No hate, but do all of Emily Henry’s main characters have some sort of book related job??

What…does… ‘2 and a half kids’ mean??

You can’t have half a kid 😂

Is that supposed to mean 2 kids, pregnant with a third?? I’m so confused

The sentence that did it for me:

“Don’t think I haven’t forgotten about your reckless behaviour. I ought to put you over my knee and spank you for that.”

I think I’m officially done. This book is getting on my nerves. I can’t *full body shivers*

I don’t like that he used to be married, even if it was a century ago

And god, I’m so sick of her talking about ‘the ache between her thighs’. This book feels way too insta lusty. I need it to be toned down

Soooo I’d like to know when exactly he used his power on her

I think it’s beautiful how falling in love literally added colour to his life

Wait, so the family sees him kiss her….but there’s no conversation about that? Only the brother? Huh?

I hate Henry so much.

A screaming match? Seriously?

Why can’t she just say, ‘hey that’s my mother. She’s expecting me. Not the villain, who she probably won’t even trust cos she’s never met him!?’

So the king knows who the Villain is?

He knows where the siblings live?

Yet does nothing to capture or kill the Villain?

Why? He doesn’t see him as a threat?

I’m so confused

It took 290 pages, but I finally see a plot 😂

I don’t get it.

Why is the fmc’s brother escorting the mmc’s gf to her room when surely she’s staying with the mmc?? And why is the mmc escorting the fmc?? It makes no sense

I have no clue what this book is about. Somethings happening but…what the heck is the plot??

Note: don’t read chapter 22 whilst eating

Well actually, it’s probably best to not read this book at any point whilst reading

First Alex Warren…now FRIENDS…I was not expecting that 😂

Omg Cane brothers?? This is set in the same universe? 🤔

Umm they were very quick to agree Edmund didn’t need to die…

Why…is the one who’s been tortured, comforting the other? Saying it’ll be okay, that they should move on etc

Ummm what?

Edward….is so weak. I like how smart he is but god, he needs to grow a spine
