OMG! So… possible spoiler alert. But I need to get this out. This whole time I was thinking this story was happening on the same timeline. Now I’m thinking it’s not! It’s past and present. Caspia is the past. Odessa is the present.

I kept wondering why their paths never crossed while they were at the castle. And Margot was Caspia’s lady’s maid. But it finally clicked!

The way he calls her baby… hits different than all the other MMC’s out there. I think Zev is perfect.

Omg yes! Finally… Ransom and Odessa are reunited! I was starting to think we’d never see him again in this book!

Wow. Power sharing as an aphrodisiac?! This part had me giddy with laughter. How she humiliated herself but he was cool with it… and then how he helped make her feel better about it when he shared the story of having shared with one of his soldiers… that was funny.

Now I’m wishing I re-read Shield of Sparrows before starting this one because, while I remember most, I’ve forgotten some… maybe a little more than some. Like the story Damon said of his necklace? Odessa brings up Luella and the journal and Luella creating an elixir… um, what? Doesn’t ring a bell.

Is it wrong that I still feel like he should be with Cecelia? Or scratch that. Is it wrong that I feel like he settled for Tessa even tho Cecelia chose Tobias? I can’t get over it.

So is HE responsible for all the corrupted minds on the Primes? I think Wren needs to find a way to get in contact with Cross. And then I think the 2 of them need to build their own team to get rid of the power hungry Primes and Mods and then figure out a new system and drive off into the sunset and live happily ever after. The end. 😝

PS. But I low key want her and Gray to end up together so…

WHAT THE FUCK?! ok… THIS i didn’t see coming. HE was in the back of my mind because he’s so closed off and “mysterious”… but because he’s not always present, I forget about him until he comes up again. Ok so now, my question is… IS he controlling Kallister or is Kallister using HIM to achieve his goals?

There’s a reason why Wren’s parents did what they did. And I think Kallister was jealous and resentful that his brother wouldn’t listen to him and so his intentions now are not as “good” as he makes it out to be. That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it 😂

They’re debriefing in the war room and I’ve always been wary of Kallister from the get go. I don’t know if I trust him. Is this story similar to Hunger Games? Where the leader of the resistance turns out to be just another power hungry leader that’s no better than the “corrupt” leader they’re trying to take out?

Another mystery I suspected… I had a feeling it was Poppy that did it.

And I knew what Evlynn was hiding when she refused to let Wren help her load her gear onto the plane before they left Dagger. Holy shit, I’m on a roll.

I suspected who was Fisher’s father but wasn’t sure and OMG I was right! Keep the plot twists comin’… I’m lovin’ it!

I knew it! I knew Travis did it! But now I need to know what his plans are… is he worse than his father? Or will he turn out to be the good guy somehow? Probably won’t know till Book 3… which f*ken sucks.

Awww. Xavier is definitely a favorite. I hope this isn’t the last we see of him in this book. I’m gonna miss him.

Ok, so… I like Wren & Cross… but am I crazy for wanting her to have a thing with Gray too? Even for just a little bit. Since she and Cross can’t be together. Because I like their chemistry. And I don’t like Karra. And it would be a good F U to her if Gray dumps her for Wren.

I am trying SO hard to finish this book. I hate DNF’ing books and I am struggling. Their relationship is over the top toxic. Like insanely toxic. Dee’s brain is just… she drives me crazy.

And it’s like a train wreck… I can’t seem to look away. It’s like I need to know what happens… even though they drive me insane 🤦🏽‍♀️

I don’t know if I’ll read the next book.

Sal’s witty comebacks are the best. The part where they’re talking about the type of guys she likes? Him calling her out on liking older men (senior citizens) is hilarious and her responses are just perfect. Love her!

And every time Sal refers to Kulti as The German? Bratwurst? German Chocolate Cake? What I wouldn’t give to see a mirrored perspective from Kulti’s POV.

I think I have a new author to add to my list of favorite authors! The whole “poop. Poop. Poop.” has me dying. I don’t think I’ve ever used that as a way to keep myself from having inappropriate thoughts for a crush.
