Why did Henry David Thoreau decide to make the first chapter 59 pages long and then the rest of them 10-15 pages long. This was so hard to get through I'm not gonna lie. He presents so many different ideas that vary so drastically while anecdotally explaining his time at Walden Pond in between. Each page probably took me like 5 minutes to read. But I think we're in the clear now since the remaining chapters are short
