Thanks to my 5 hour stint in lab, I’m speeding through this thing. I’m actually quite enjoying it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how they fly but I’ve given up trying to understand or imagine it. I also keep forgetting they’re humans. It’s tough not being able to picture anything. I like Vin though. I think she has a love interest now?? Not sure I like that but I guess I’ll see

At this point I’m doing everything in my power to not have to finish Villette 😂

Done with part 1. The Brontë sisters certainly seemed to be interesting people. Went down a Wikipedia rabbit hole

Accidentally spoiled a plot twist but it’s okay. I’m quite enjoying this book, but there is so much French that is not automatically translated so I have to keep flipping back to the footnotes to explain. It’s taking me forever. But very entertaining and I’m loving the narrator.

Still unsure exactly what the story is but it’s interesting. Not many things have happened per se but I’m 390 pages in… so. Idk it’s hard to explain. I’ll have to dwell on things a bit longer

What a strange book. Not what I was expecting

Very interesting set up. Much different from his other books. The characters are teenagers and they’re poor which is such a contrast from his other characters that are older and aristocratic. But intelligent and witty nonetheless!

Hmmm quite cliche. I hate it when characters have an “instant realization” that completely changes their entire perspective on the world and it’s like 4 sentences long. Like cmon bro

I have returned after a brief break. I fear it may be some time until I can finish this book. However! I am enjoying the Eve in Hollywood sequel! It’s very interesting because it’s about Eve but told through the perspective of the people she’s meeting. Quite unique. I LOVE AMOR TOWLES!!

Finished with the final short story. One word summery: YUP! Loved it. Can’t wait for the final half of the book; it’s a sequel/spinoff for one of the main characters from “Rules of Civility” which I loved when I read it last summer.

Fifth story done! This one was funny!! The husband reminded me of Schmidt from New Girl and I could totally see the narrator rolling her eyes at him bc he was being so dramatic.
