So clever! I love how dramatic the narrator is. The characters are interesting but it’s the weirdly intimate and funny 3rd person narration that makes me want to keep reading. Also, I’ve been enjoying reading this book slowly and trying not to rush through it, just imagining everything in my head. It also helps that I am reading with a British accent lol

It’s been super insightful and really makes me think! I think it’s a little outdated some times, especially when it references WW2 and the culture at the time, but generally it is still universal. It gets philosophical and can be difficult to understand the language. I have been liking it so far.

It was alright. The plot twists at the end were unnecessary and left a bad taste in my mouth. I did not enjoy the characters at all. It seems like the author hasn’t talked to a teenager in years. The only decent, somewhat interesting plot was between the detective and his high school crush, but this was also super shallow and made no sense.

Did not finish. The book felt shallow and like there were too many characters to actually like any of them. It was difficult to follow along as it skipped around time too much.
