Decided to start on this series today, so far I’m really enjoying it! Really like WW’s backstory and whatever supernatural shit he’s got going on. So much drama already, he’s literally just a Hollywood housewife causing drama for no reason lmaooo💀

Hundred pages in and I can’t tell if this book is trying so fucking hard to be actual serious feminist literature and failing miserably, or if it’s satire and making fun of feminism and women knowingly. And honestly I don’t know what’s worse lmao. The whole writing style is giving g.i.r.l. and it’s so sad man. I’ll continue reading, hoping for ANYTHING good, but damn it man :(

… ngl, so far I am so bored reading this. This book is very episodic and doesn’t really follow a “main story” (not yet at least?). But I guess that’s what you get with a 1vol-only series. Lot of time and place jumping, and introducing characters that really don’t matter. Idk it all just feels so fetish-coded instead of making me care for the actual character couple.

Although not as fun when he decides to break the 4th wall and creep the reader out for no reason (bro why😭). Meanwhile the Navidson’s are losing their marbles over this tiny closet room that randomly appeared. Bro calling all of the avengers for help at this point💀

So from what I understand; there are two stories going on at the same time atm and they both got a specific font to distinguish which is which? One seems to be Johnny’s journal, the other a documentation surrounding the Navidson family and the house. Very interesting concept, I dig it. However, I am struggling to read the different fonts. I read even slower than what I normally do, but it is what it is.

This whole volume was just misery to read. I’m convinced that Meatbun is a masochist who hates her readers lol. It took me way too long to read it all cuz I was dreading reading it. Every chapter was just rage infusing because of Shi Mei. I hate this man with a passion. I can’t possibly see how this story is gonna have any sort of happy ending.
