So, I have come to the conclusion that I'm likely not totally leaving Goodreads. ... Sad to say. As much as I greatly prefer The Storygraph in the way they organize my books and the information it gives me - as well as find it easier to be introduced to new books, I still find Goodreads better in helping me decide if they are books I actually want to read. I suppose I might be using both of them for awhile.

So you'll be noticing me changing shelves for books a lot right now as I try to clean up my shelves and actually use them.

I kind of plan on doing this by the end of the month, but not sure when. I want to not have like five books I'm in the middle of, at least.[2/2]

In a nutshell:

And I'm supposed to be shipping this? I honestly don't know which part I dislike more.

Savina is a bitch and needs to be slapped good and hard and made to realize if she actually cared about protecting her brother, she'd direct him far, far away from her.

In other news, I love how Alba always refers to Ani as 'the murder-beast.'

I'm starting to seriously consider leaving Goodreads. I was thinking about it last year - even went so far as to set up an account - thanks to my major falling out with Amazon and the changes to the books pages - that I still hate. And now they've changed so much of the challenges page - making it something that I hate also. So, I think I'm going to go play with that other website a bit and see how I like it.

Honestly, I think I'm just going to drop this either until I am feeling it or until I reread the rest of the books, because I'm just kind of skimming through it to get through it. Maybe just post it as a DNF and then immediately move it to the DNF's I want to try again shelf - because it's clogging up my TBR and it's not fair to this book to not care about ANY of these people because I don't remember them.

I'm going to be honest, I don't know who these people are - it's been so long since I read the first four books in this interconnected series - and after two chapters of random names, places and info-dumps, I don't really care.

Okay, I was wrong - the one with black hair is also the one with Latin blood. But his hair is merely 'peace fuzz' while the other guy is blonde with hair a couple inches longer.

Still not seeing it.

Okay, so the cover I got is the other one, but I wish looks of the characters was actually taken into consideration when designing covers. One of them is described as having black hair and the other has Latin blood.

And the cover shows two very white blondes. ... ?

One of the best complements I can give a book that has multiple perspectives is regretting when I reach the end of a chapter, because that means the next chapter will be from a different perspective.

I have felt just such regret at the end o 6 of the last 7 chapters of this book. (And not on one of them because it simply continued the POV from the previous chapter.)

I thought it would be nice to read a little of this before bed, but I think I'm just going to go to bed before this ticks me off any more than it has already.

And then we quickly follow that up with head hopping.

WTH?

... And we were doing so well, too. But no, he's hot - now that he's washed the prison filth off, so of course she has to have thoughts like that. I mean, it was bad enough when we found out that she and the other guy used to have/be a thing, but I kept hoping it was just a blip.

Maybe it still will be?

We were treated to descriptions of people burning alive, their skin melting off them and then (I think it was) four (short) chapters later, we are treated to a facemask and tv show watching party. I'm...confused as to what this book is supposed to be.

This looks like it's not going to be one of those 'I had these feelings before and repressed' things. (I hope, I hope, I hope.)
