Started with a bang....but then ground to a halt, plot-wise. Paused for now...

Goodreads' most addictive feature (and also the biggest time-waster) -- the infinite scroll.

Just a quick heads up for everyone who's had their reviews and status updates hijacked by a nasty troll. Goodreads emailed me today that they've deleted the user.

Not sure why it took them this long to take action but better late than never. For now, GR is back to being a safe place for friendly and polite discourse. Remember the best way to deal with them is to FLAG and REPORT the post.

Surest sign of a seriously good read is when you can't make yourself get back to work.

The cover should have clued me in. This isn't a sci-fi book. Its a romance, through and through.

Only a certified ice queen can pull me out of my reading funk, and make me stay off the news all day (well 'çept for a peek or two) and put off work that I needed to finish yesterday!

Only read the sample but I'm loving the premise. And completely intrigued with Sam!

The technical detail is astounding--from everyday happenings to logistics to the investigation. Like something out of a Tom Clancy book.

This book is the antithesis of Brayden. Dark and stormy to Brayden's sunshine and rainbows. I think I read them in the wrong order. :(

This is relentlessly dark and depressing. Even when the occasional light moment intrudes, we are soon reminded of the endless night.

Of course, I signed up precisely for this so all I can do right now is trust the author and take comfort in the gritty and immersive writing.

Reincarnation of SOHO, with a whole different cast, and on the other side of the coast. I was afraid the concept would get old, but NO, it's just as much fun this time around!

Is it just me? Almost halfway through and I'm still not feeling anything. No jolts, no tugs, no tingles... :(

Love this make up line: "I’m going to lie spread-eagle on top of my car, possibly naked, until you come save me from the seagulls and the police, whichever comes first.”

And this comeback even better: “I’m not here to save you. I just wanted to see you naked and handcuffed.”

Finally! the one scene that makes the whole book worth reading. Before this it was rather dry and devoid of drama. Oh the world-building was amazingly detailed, but it was all stuff for the mind and the senses...this one scene is all heart.

Ahhhhh.... All is good in the universe.

MC spent the entire first book pining for the love that got away....the "ass-over-teakettle, rocket-ship-to-the-moon, heart-stopping, nerve-wracking kind of love" but now that she got it back, she's pushing her away. :(

Fire trucking unbelievable! Most incredibly frustrating plot ever! :😂

At first this book felt like a Trigger clone, but now it has really come into its own. And never seen so many amazing butches together in one book. :)

Selene is hands down the most engaging and endearing character I've read this year. Certainly not something I expect from a paranormal book.
