Compulsory read for an elective class

This book was written almost 80 years ago and it describes the current politics and society so well. I can see why the govt wants the book banned. If in 2026 we're still so similar to 1948, (Abby Lee's voice from dance moms): have we learned nothing? Or is it that human civilization behaves cyclically and we're again in the brink of totalitarianism phase?

Dostoyevsky teaches how the battle isn't between good vs evil, it's the battle inside your consciousness and how we're capable of both.

It's unsettling reading about what goes on in the mind of someone before committing a murder, all the planning and altered state of mind, etc

I'm someone who catches on predictability in books very quickly, but this book has had so many plot twists that it is refreshing to read. I haven't been bored not even once, reading this book. Plot so good that if it weren't for academic workload i would've finished the book by now, it's addictive.
