Making myself finish this before picking up Meditations

Not feeling connected to anyone yet but I like the aesthetic

Hmm I’m sensing a little bit of bias from Mackay in these chapters on Christianity, particularly with martyrdom. Early Christians were burned alive, crucified, torn apart by animals in arenas, and Mackay’s tone kind of says “but it didn’t happen to EVERYONE, just those who refused to reject it.” Also saying “apparently Jesus was executed” is a bit crazy considering it’s historically accurate.

Started studying for the Series 65 so this will prob have to pause for abt a month

Dido is so tragic. Just poured her heart out, begging Aeneas to take pity on her, not to abandon her. And this man responds saying their marriage was never real…😀 And then to pour salt in the wound he says even if he didn’t have to found Rome he’d still rather be back in Troy…uh uh

Don’t wanna spoil anything but I’ll just say finding out it wasn’t really *** when him and **** did something that caused something made me feel ill

There are 1,000+ pages in this book yet I haven’t fully felt the depth of Helena and Luc’s friendship. It’s starting to make me mad. I want to FEEL the loyalty to Luc so that I can better understand the implications of her relationship with Ferron.
