Incredible preaching, clarity of gospel, and compelling earnestness.

3/10 done. His words even in writing manifest an earnestness and plainness that so often seem lacking now. In closing a sermon, he says:
“If you are damned, it will not be for want of preaching to you, and it shall not be for want of praying for you. God knoweth that if my heart could break of itself, it would, for your souls, how earnestly I long for you in the bowels of Christ Jesus…”

1 of 10 volumes down. Incredible sermons, the gospel is expressed so plainly in each and every one. You would never leave a sermon of his without a clear understanding of what you must do to be saved.

Incredible sermons, I can’t even imagine hearing them in person and after reading a few it is no wonder London saw the revival it did under this man.

Finished the first volume! Definitely the biggest book I’ve read and it’s only a third of the series. In reading this you also read around 500 different expositors from church history that are quoted, pretty cool.
