This book is officially getting juicy, and I wasn’t expecting it. I’m a little annoyed with the main character because she keeps making poor life choices, but honestly, I’d probably do the same, which makes it even more frustrating. She’s flawed, a bit annoying, and very real. I love and hate her at the same time, which feels like a sign of good writing.

I love how it moves back and forth in time and keeps revealing things little by little. It reminds me of Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, which I loved. The mix of news articles and past scenes keeps you intrigued, answering questions just enough without spoiling anything.

It’s cute, and I’m enjoying it so far. It’s set in L.A., which I love, and the main character is a journalist. I like how the author adds story based articles and other pieces between chapters to build the backstory, very creative.

So far, the book has captured my attention immediately. I really appreciate how different it feels, and I like the way the protagonist’s voice comes through, it almost reads as if she is telling her story through a magazine, which fits perfectly with her role as a journalist.

Is it just me, or does some of this writing come off a little rude? The characters casually call people ‘morons,’ and something about the way people are described just felt… off. Maybe it’s the era it was written in, but a few lines didn’t sit right with me.

I ended up falling asleep after a chapter, it was long and kind of dragged on. Maybe I was just tired, but it started to feel a bit dull. The book tends to stretch out scenes that don’t really need it, which makes some parts harder to stay engaged with. I appreciate the detail, but some of it could’ve been said more simply and left to our imagination.

It’s been hard to put down. I read well past midnight because it’s SO good. I like how it dives deeper into Billie’s love life. I’m still curious about the tension between Mary Alice and Natalie, though. The books hasn’t explained why there’s so much friction yet.

Made the mistake of reading the book description first, now I keep anticipating what’s going to happen instead of just reading and letting things unfold naturally.

It’s giving off the same vibe as the first book, funny and a bit slow at the start, but still really enjoyable. There were some graphic parts too, But overall I’m liking it!

You don’t need to read the first book to get this one. It gives subtle callbacks and reminders of what happened before, if you forgot some details, it catches you up naturally. So far, it’s fast-paced and funny. Even though the characters are in their 60s, they feel very relatable. I’ve reread a few sections while following the audiobook to make sure I caught everything. I like it so far.

Had to re-read a few chapters to keep track of the characters, but it’s really picking up. Fast, easy read, and I’m loving it so far. Mysterious, funny, and also surprisingly graphic at times — definitely not what I expected.

I’ve made it through most of the book and I’m feeling mixed about it. It’s funny and fast-paced, but some scenes feel a little too drawn out. It’s not quite what I expected going in, but overall, it’s been a quick and entertaining read.

I think I read too quickly and might’ve missed a few details. I borrowed this book from the library, so it sucks that I can’t go back and check my notes. I really like how the story jumps back in time; those chapters keep the book interesting. Chp. 18, set in November 1981 was a fun chapter to read. Billie meets this guy who definitely gives off hot, mysterious energy.
