I love the structure, instead of chapters, the story unfolds by time, which feels fresh and immersive. The main character can be frustrating in her obvious denial about liking the boy, but it’s also kind of sweet. I loved the unexpected details like notes, receipts, and flyers. Overall, it’s a cute, heartfelt coming-of-age story.

Loved the background story on Marty McFly’s shoes. Even after watching so many documentaries about the movie, I hadn’t come across that history before. Reading about it in chapter 4 was a highlight.

This book is officially getting juicy, and I wasn’t expecting it. I’m a little annoyed with the main character because she keeps making poor life choices, but honestly, I’d probably do the same, which makes it even more frustrating. She’s flawed, a bit annoying, and very real. I love and hate her at the same time, which feels like a sign of good writing.

I love how it moves back and forth in time and keeps revealing things little by little. It reminds me of Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, which I loved. The mix of news articles and past scenes keeps you intrigued, answering questions just enough without spoiling anything.

It’s cute, and I’m enjoying it so far. It’s set in L.A., which I love, and the main character is a journalist. I like how the author adds story based articles and other pieces between chapters to build the backstory, very creative.
