This book hasn’t gripped my attention as much as book four did. I switched to the audiobook to help.

Uff this one is a bit heavy/depressing too. But an interesting story so far!

These last few chapters is giving me final battle at Hogwarts vibes with all the death. Booooo! 👎🏻

I don’t know if this is a popular or unpopular opinion but Katniss is so annoying!

I have myself a goal of 50 books to read in 2026. Well, The Hunger Games was number 50! 🥳 Now, I think I’ll change the goal to 100. Can I read another 50 books in 2026? We shall see!

Really enjoying this story so far! Maybe I’ll finish the book tomorrow.

Even with all the science talk, it’s pretty easy to follow along. I’m listening to the audiobook and the narrator is excellent!

I’ve realized that contemporary romance and most romance books just aren’t my thing. There has to be some other interesting element to the story for me to enjoy it. It can’t JUST be about the romance.

Considering purging my collection of these books I never enjoy as much as I think I will…🤔

Mariselle is an unlikeable character. I find myself rooting more for Evryn but I’m hoping Mariselle has some kind of humbling experience and becomes more likable.

A 44 page prologue?!? Geez lol

This story is so enjoyable (that says a lot coming from someone who doesn’t usually enjoy fantasy)! The sarcastic banter is my favorite!

I’m reading at a slower pace because I find myself wanting to absorb and savor everything from this world.

I’m not a huge fantasy lover but I’m enjoying this story more than I thought I would.

I’ll admit, I only started reading it because the cover is cute lol.

So far there are two major issues going on and I can’t see how Gabrielle Meyer will solve them. I’m excited to keep reading!

There’s A LOT of sexual tension, talk about kissing, kissing and each character describing each other’s bodies in this book.
Completely unnecessary for the story and not something that should be in a Christian fiction book.

I know I said I wasn’t sure if I’d continue this series but I’m a mood reader and for some reason, I’m in the mood to find out what happens with Ellen. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel like I keep reading and reading and reading and somehow still have 40% of the book to go. I like the story but it’s dragging! 😩

I like it but it’s a slow story.

I hate to say it because Gabrielle Meyer is my favorite author but this book isn’t one of her best so far. The store is a bit confusing to follow with all the different names and places mentioned. I feel like the first 5 chapters so far have been a big history dump and I am not understanding much.

The main characters are also not very entertaining. I switched to audiobook to see if it helps.
