I hate to say it because Gabrielle Meyer is my favorite author but this book isn’t one of her best so far. The store is a bit confusing to follow with all the different names and places mentioned. I feel like the first 5 chapters so far have been a big history dump and I am not understanding much.
The main characters are also not very entertaining. I switched to audiobook to see if it helps.

I ended up DNFing this . The one and only book I’ve done for Gabby.

It’s odd to me how this book has been written. I have read 4 of her novellas and those carry so much depth with the characters. So far we know so little about the main characters and so much about the history of the time.
