One running them through the book, mentioned over and over again, is Deb’s kindness. He would always give the coat off his back to whatever poor soul he met on the street that day. I think it intersects strongly with his belief that each man must have the right to go his own way, to make his own choices, to be (as Paulo Freire would say) a complete human. The revolution must be lead by the working man.
