I'm not sure I will be able to read this book. The stories are too horrific. Everything worst in a human being is out in these stories. They are too real.

Мені дуже подобається. Особливо з погляду сучасних подій в Україні. Сьогодні прочитала про Київ... Сама була точно в таких ситуаціях.... В загалі це цікава суміш щоденника подорожей у часі і просторі одночасно

Yuliya is reading On the Shortness of Life: Life Is Long if You Know How to Use It (Penguin Great Ideas)
It's going very very slowly. Every line is a quote. It requires stopping and thinking.

Finished 'his sister, her monologue' and have mixed feelings about it. It was a little confusing jumping from one story line to another without much connection besides the discussion on nature of women and being yourself. But it is written quite nice: 'words and gestures that are inexplicable to us annihilate the self, since we cannot prove we exist in a language we do not understand'

Read a few kenian stories. Sometimes it feels they are written by kids because of their simple language. Illustrations of The life and times of Ricjard Onyango are great!
