I really love how absolutely no one, except Aphrodite, even likes Paris. The Greeks hate him because he stole Helen, his family hates him because he stole Helen and caused all this war. Even Helen hates Paris for being a coward who shies away from the fight he started, and she hates him for kidnapping her. Helen consistently compares Paris to Menelaus and consistently concludes that Paris sucks.

I've been putting off reading Homer because I was afraid of the language. I've now realised that it really isn't that bad (even though my translation is over a hundred years old).

I can't believe that the gods are making these decisions. I want to say more things about them, but I fear I'm still far too much of a Percy Jackson fan to dare say anything bad about the gods too loudly.

So far this is very good. If it destroys me I have the opportunity to ponder it at the top of a mountain.

I knew there were too many pages left when everything seemed fine. I knew that, I know it from experience and I saw the signs, and yet I did not expect this. I am going to go cry.

Can you fall in love with a book? I am in love with this book.

Starting this because it's summer break and I need something fresh (and definitely great) because the end of the school year combined with some mediocre books have put me in a bit of a slump.

Also, the world is pretty ugly right now and I need some beauty, where better to seek that than in the poetic prose of Zoulfa Katouh?

Ok so, Mafi uses chapters like others use page breaks. It's getting tiring. Also, I love me a grotesque and horrifying James who's impervious to pain, but if he could get his braincells back that would be nice.

I remember embarrassingly little of the last book, so reading this is like solving a riddle at the moment, but that's fine because WARNER AND KENJI AND JULIETTE

It says here that this is the second book, but when my father read it as a child he started with this, so I am going to do so as well. ANARCHY!!

I have read the prologue and the first chapter. I understand very little and I am loving it, so, yay

Did I pick this up yesterday and read 14 chapters in one sitting? Yes.
Did I pick it up again this morning and immediately read the next seven chapters? Yes.
Did I have other important things to do? Yes.
Do I have any regrets? No :)

Suffice is to say I have fallen in love with Jude and with the book, in that order, and will need the rest of this series on my doorstep within a week.
