I had originally predicted this book to be a DNF, as the FMC in all stories need to be kickass real to me as a reader. What an utter disappointment to be right.

This book is proving to be a shallowly written story. The storyline has potential to be a great one, but the author lets the characters tell the reader what has happened instead of the reader experiencing it for themselves.

I got bored, so it’s going to be a filler book

aaaaargh! this is so fucking bad. it started off really good - it could have been great. By chapter 12, the entire storyline has devolved to putrid regurgitated money-maker word-salads. so done.

geez this book is gross - i don’t recommend eating while reading.

this book is rediculous. it’s smut with a useless story line. like a cheezy porno.

ok this is an ok story with not so great world building and lack-lustre dialogue.

I swear i’m tempted to DNF right at those words.

this is weak writing… not sure i can continue. audio version narrators are not my taste either. SIGH.

Wow this is pretty gross so far. I hate maggots.

Callum is working on Lyra’s first O of the night and being a duet, Angel Pean inserts a ‘Callum!’ with such an annoyed inflection that you can’t help but laugh as Teddy Hamilton continues with his intense insistence that ‘his name was a cry torn from her throat as she shattered…’

chapter 26 - totally rushed info dump between Callum, Grayson, Shadira and Lyra - then jumping to chapter 27: Callum and Lyra get hot and heavy. The dialogue between the two of them is so over the top with not enough investment into the two’s relationship before hand to warrant a reader’s investment in their relationship. farcical.

I don’t know what’s going on and I am not liking the failed attempt at some accent that drops into middle american - back and forth. I just can’t continue.

FMC Tamsin cannot stand Emrys aka ‘trust fund’ for years now, and then he encroaches on her privacy to help her survive a 107 degree fever, and all of a sudden she trusts him enough to allow his involvement with her top secret hunt?
Obv.sly Emrys has fond feelings for Tamsin, but puts up an obnoxious front to hide said feelings.

This book is seriously dark.
I’m not a fan of the plot info dumps left to the last book. The entire series is somewhat disjointed.

this FMC is driving me crazy!!
she keeps doing the stupidest things - i’m getting second hand anxiety from her idiotic choices and impulsive actions.

The character development for the FMC is seriously lacking. The situation she finds herself in and her reaction to it just doesn’t make sense to me. I can see where the story is going with all the hints and foreshadowing, but the FMC’s lack of follow-up questions to suspicious behaviour and comments is just dumb.

I don’t think i can continue with this one.

The narrator is performing like he’s reporting the news. Hate that.
