Its a slow burn. It's been hard to move thru but I'm almost there.

Still settling into the writing style...trying to remember book 2 events. A quarter of the way thru and still haven't heard much from the main character of this book Ninshubar. It's all good.

So surreal. After reading so many different kinds of stories since book 2.....getting back to her cool ass surrealism feels like work. So worth it. I admire Emily so much...that she can put you in dream scenes like nothing. No effort...no apology...tightly woven. But ALOT was happening at the end of book 2...so to continue on with that in book 3....is intense.

I finished book 2 of this series, 6 books ago.....I hope I can flow back into the story.

I only wish this was listed as a prequel to A Secret History of Witches....so I could follow the story chronologically. I'm so invested....so involved in the Ochiere line. ;). Great story telling. Nothing gratuitous or over reaching. Love her writing so much.

Ohh such a fun story. I love how her writing.

A little annoyed....anything on the Divine Feminine seems to always be about how it was perverted by the patriarchy and the ways it was done....so in essence it still becomes about the patriarchy. Very very annoyed. I am trying to set that feeling aside to see how else we can glorify the downfall. (Deep sarcasm)

Love all the different stories. So well done. I wouldn't say the main theme is about the love of Mothers and Daughters...It would be the lineage of magic.

Notes: A little disconnect to have Irene talking so badly about men and "witches woes" when nothing about her life after the marriage proposal was shared. I suppose we can assume that her husband tried to control her but it appears she's lived the life she insisted on living due to practicing her families magic. I don't see how she has the footing to keep insisting on the same story that was the past. Lost a bit.

I'm loving how different the daughters are. The story feels a bit wild and unpredictable. I think Louisa Morgan is my new favorite author.

I love that this is being talked about. All the right stuff.
