Such a layered and interesting story. fun

I have found a new favorite author. I heard people complain that the store owner is just grumpy but he's conveyed with such nuance and care. I really love her style.

Ohh, I spoke too soon. I'm going to love reading all Alix's books.

I am trying to love it but...I really don't like the turn the author made in this section. It kinda feels like the power shifted in a way I find so annoying. Oh well. Such is life.

Not into it these days. I read the first 3 books almost 20 years ago and they were life changing. Revelations and openings on every lovely page so out of respect, I will keep picking it up to see if maybe I get put back in touch with something that I didn't know had fallen away.

Its moving along fine. Lots of characters joined right away with back story. It's a good read.

I like how serious the main character is. I've heard others complaining about his attitude but once you read the story, you will understand more. He also feels a little high brow....thats kind of annoying. I'm not connecting with his bitter rants...but maybe that is meant to show who he is as a person rather than for me to agree or disagree with his snobbiness. I'm intrigued soooo, moving on!

I love Woman, Goddess, Mother, Lovers, Healers and Femmes but I've been there-done that with speaking the template of the partriarchy. I know what it is and how it has shaped us. I cant give further attention to it. I'm into the next stages of living the new ways of love, compassion and unity.

But if someone is New she may find a grounded and empowering foundation in Garcia's story.

Its a slow burn. It's been hard to move thru but I'm almost there.

Still settling into the writing style...trying to remember book 2 events. A quarter of the way thru and still haven't heard much from the main character of this book Ninshubar. It's all good.

So surreal. After reading so many different kinds of stories since book 2.....getting back to her cool ass surrealism feels like work. So worth it. I admire Emily so much...that she can put you in dream scenes like nothing. No effort...no apology...tightly woven. But ALOT was happening at the end of book 2...so to continue on with that in book 3....is intense.

I finished book 2 of this series, 6 books ago.....I hope I can flow back into the story.

I only wish this was listed as a prequel to A Secret History of Witches....so I could follow the story chronologically. I'm so invested....so involved in the Ochiere line. ;). Great story telling. Nothing gratuitous or over reaching. Love her writing so much.
