There’s an uneasy feeling brewing from the story so far, like the ending will be somewhat unsatisfying because it will be bittersweet. I desperately want a happy ending for these kids, but happy endings are for fairytales.

Improving 1% everyday… As far as self-help books go, it’s been an enjoyable informative read so far. It’s digestible, doesn’t feel patronising. I guess the best thing is it feels adaptable and I imagine that’s what everyone wants to get from reading something like this

The writing style is really frustrating, especially the characters voices. Vanessa is one dimensional in her obsession with her ex-husband. The voice of Nellie is just as infuriating, no depth; she’s just young and head over heels in love trying to hide a mysterious past. I know I’m not even a quarter of a way into the book yet, but it’s all feeling a little like I’ve heard this all before
