And, in Dolittle’s attitudes and amendments of the treatment of circus animals, and fox-hunting, it is gleefully radical: satisfyingly forward-thinking. Also, if you love the Rex Harrison film, this is the source for the Sophie the seal sub-plot. Enjoy: for children of all ages. Even ones of 56!

Utterly extraordinary. One of those books you want to finish but never want to end.
