Some of the absolute worst bullshit I’ve ever read, terribly written and so many frustrating cringey French clichés

Absolutely love it, started off a little slow but it’s the best Middle East fiction I’ve read since The Kite Runner

Had such high hopes but feeling disappointed. Whilst some of the writing is beautiful, some is cliche, and it worsens as the book progresses. There are far too many characters and separate stories going on simultaneously for a 260 (ish page) book. Really forcing myself to get to the end, which is such a shame because it started off so well

Given up for now, this book had good potential and the storyline was good, but honestly couldn’t stand the writing style. So many pointless boring details and not enough happening

Got bored and stopped. Bit long and complicated

10/10, so interesting given current politics/changing technology, I think this book will always remain relevant in every era

Trop bien jusqu’ici

Amazing! I’m not quite as hooked as when I read A Thousand Splendid Suns, but it’s certainly an incredible book nonetheless

Just got to part three, it’s definitely got better but I don’t think it’s very well written. Too many cliches, I don’t know the authors background all too well but it feels as if she’s trying to throw in impressive psychological references to make it seem that she is well informed on the field, rather than showing it in subtle more intelligent ways

13 chapters in, not so keen, don’t love the writing style and its moving a bit slowly
