I hate Zane so much. I'm so happy right now. A nothing character. I like when he explains his evil plan out loud it was very natural.
I really hope all of these characters die they're all insufferable, but they won't and it will be epic like Marvel.
ALSO OMG VIN IS EPIC SHE FIGURED OUT HOW TO BEAT SUPER METAL.
Would have made more sense if the way to beat it wasn't so simple "just wait and move AFTER they do"

Bitches be like "If I don't use the proper bronze alloy on my mud vats the incantation rings will be inscribed perpendicular to my original calculations. I must create a clone self, but not without the proper intangible wefting measures or else the material world will become out of sink with the interdicting planes"
But then get distracted because they hate the MC so much they seethe and fuck the entire thing up.

Perhaps the worst pair of chapters yet. Vin is one of the worst protagonists I've had the displeasure to read. Vin and Elend are the reason straight people are not valid.

I'm sick of Vin wallowing in self pity despite being 1. A super wizard, 2. Living a life of comparable luxury, 3. Surrounded by friends.
But NOOOO she's gotta listen to ZANE.
Elend's response also pissed me off. Just terrible horrible characters

"These are the strongest and scariest things EVER you better watch out because they are so fricking SCARY. Now watch as Elend kills one with a knife and 6 months training"

If he needed Elend to figure out what was in the pouches just have him steal one from Jasper's tent. Why the need to upscale Elend like this. Now theres 0 reason why anyone should be scared of the Koloss.

Coming back to this book. IT STILL SUCKS. I HATE ALL THESE PEOPLE WHY IS IT LIKE THIS. HORRID.

Immediately more entertaining. I'm not sure if the different perspective is what's giving the story some life, the lack of Nathan who was a rather boring character, or a combination of the two.

Including the villain as a perspective character was an entertaining choice.

The book starts with some assassins doing a bunch of smack and getting stuck in a tunnel while a tiny woman cleans them.

It seems more structured, with chapter titles and such.
The Epilogue name is a spoiler though, I don't get what Pheby's obsession with putting character deaths in titles and summaries is.

Don't read the plot summary of this book, it literally spoils the ending of the first one

Cett provides breath brevity to the most boring siege imaginable.
The pretty vile depiction of Vin and Elend's relationship continues, with Tindwyl's influence. The line "this is what I must be for him" stuck with me as pretty reprehensible, Hopefully that was the intention and not Brando Sando's attempts at being romantic.

I think every character is less likable. The story is less interesting. Every over scene is Vin making out with Elend and now they've introduced a schizophrenic that self-harms.

This books actually reads like it was written by a Mormon. It was.
