I have to say that, unfortunately, I am not enjoying this book nearly as much as the first one. I loved the "false utopia" of the 1st novel, but this 2nd novel feels more like a transition novel, which is the trap that a lot of series/trilogies seem to fall into. I want to read the 3rd novel to see if it gets back to a feeling more like the 1st, so I'm still pushing through to the end of this one.

This has gotten so much better & very suspenseful.

I'm really savoring this book. I absolutely love Buzz's very detailed account & personal take on one of history's greatest & most memorable accomplishments.

I've figured out what it feels like. That jarring feeling of quickly jumping around among four different time periods. It feels like being in a manual car with someone who doesn't know how to drive a stick, and it keeps stopping & starting. It can't really *get going* or pick up any momentum. And it surely doesn't feel smooth! That's what the first ten chapters have felt like so far.

42 pages in, and this story has bounced around soooo much: "Now" (present day), 2 months before, 8 years ago, and then the NASA transcripts that have come from sometime in the future... It's not too difficult to keep the period straight, since there are chapter headers that show when each takes place, but it's just a bit jarring jumping back & forth & all around in FOUR different time periods so far.
