I don’t care for raymonde’s story at all. I get the point of it, but it’s a bore to be slowed down by a side story when the main one is such a rush. Troye Sivan.

I just don’t like it. Everything is told to me in long descriptions- why don’t you just let the characters tell the story? The first pages were exactly that, and then instead we get long paragraphs saying so & so is a writer, so & so is a painter, so & so is plain. Ugh.

In love with this. Definitely a page turner even though the pacing isn’t quick, I just genuinely want to see how everyone is connected.

this is mwah! I really enjoy the beginning, and each character's introductions. so far I'm having fun. I loooove the individual personalities of everyone and watching them intertwine.

Still fun, though I could do without the blackouts... now that I know what happened it doesn't seem to add anything anymore with her freakouts, but I suppose it's a character flaw that must persist. my prediction.... Marco sleeps with Cynthia, the parents pay Cynthia. something happens where she goes to the cops. Marco gets thrown in jail. baby is dead. at this point it'd be ridiculous for her not to be.

Pretty cliche, but I'm having fun with the mystery. Thrown right into it, definitely a page turner

Is the third novel of a trilogy. Come back after reading the other two.

not much fun... not much fun at all. it's a romance. why did no one tell me that. from the cover I thought it'd be a.. Hannibal or saltburn scenario... instead it's seeming like white people's "im not like other girls, I like music" but all she's talking about is this boy. you're exactly like other girls. how drab. this is gonna be a tough read.

this book is so fun. Every time I put it down its because I have to, not because I want to. the author does a great job of making you feel tense scenes. and the handling of queerness and diversity is so realistic and subtle! We only get off hand comments about character' ethnicities- Darcy's mom's name being Nguyet (vietnamese) and Miri wearing a Kimono, along with Marshall's dark curly hair and dialogue quirks. A+!

LOVE. We jump right into the mix of things and learn so much about Cherry from the start!! She's such an enthralling and funny character, and I'm completely pulled in by this author's writing style. honestly hard to put down! After reading that trash Edge, this is such a relief!
I hope Margot reaches back out to Cherry :( But maybe its better if she doesnt lol

After page 200 I resorted to skimming the book by reading only the first and last sentence in a paragraph. Since the characters repeat everything anyway, I'm not missing the plot. I wish they added more characterization to Chris. Since he's black, having him be only an asset to Naoki is pretty lackluster. Along with having Naoki, the gay guy, really eccentric. wow. anyway, the world is falling apart now.

Finally picking up some speed! Now that all the characters are onboard w/ whats going on, its a fun and engaging read. I don't find myself skimming over stuff I already know as much. The characters still repeat themselves, but its bearable. I'm curious as to what they'll do when they make the discovery, since the 'big bad' is the earth, supposedly.

Again, the plot & mystery is so delectable, if only he didn't make Saeko so weird! Also, predicting that the reason people are vanishing is because something in the atoms/universal makeup is shifting, causing them to fall through the Earth. This was my predict. since the prolog, its grating waiting for the characters to piece it together. Saeko should've gotten it by now, but unless her dad tells her, she won't.

Kitakawa's perspective is way more fulfilling than Saeko's, making me think that the author can't write women. Kita didn't have a weird obsession w/ his dead wife, so maybe the author just thinks that women always think of men... if he wrote the book from Kita's view, I wouldn't have as many complaints.

Okay I’m drawn back in. I assumed the people just disappeared to another plane, but then how are they speaking, knowing & interacting w/ Saeko? And how did her dad’s book end up in the house? Very curious. Very interested to start chap/act 2, hopefully without as many info dumps & repetition.

1) Saeko's dad explaining evolution and complex sciences, as if he's talking to an adult, to elementary age Saeko and her just completely understanding and retaining that information?? Okay.
2) Toshiya attempting to rape Saeko, the book blaming her, her blaming her, and actin like that's totally okay for teen boys to do? Like its a phase they go through?? Her still facing him as if it was just an awkward confession??

We get it Saeko, you're unloved! Jesus. Also, falling in love with the first male character? jESUS GIRL. like stand up. Can you exist as a singularity? I think not. Could be the eastern values shining through there.

I really like it so far. It's not a genre that I would usually snag, but I'm really curious about how things unfold, and I'm not bored yet! I wish the author didn't introduce the female main character by talking about her tits. Everything else is good.
