This book mesmerized me. I had never heard of this tragedy, it is just horrific. The way this book was written from the child’s POV made it that much more heart wrenching. It was beautifully written even how awful the subject is. It has prompted me to investigate into history and read more about this and the bombing of this rescue boat. Just sickening

struggggggggling with this one and to think I am only half way through. It is dragging on at this point. Way tooo long

Liking this book so far. With as quick as Olivia gave in to Carter not quite sure why the book is as long as it is. We will see

Wow now the 12 year old son has won the war and killed Breies. He refuses to let his dad and his lover be together in the afterlife. AGain I think it’s because of the servant issue rather than the same sex love. Glad to be finished

This is getting ridiculous. I guess I was thinking it would be more historical than fiction. Now Achilles and his gay lover have agreed that Achilles will marry a child bride but instead she is stabbed to death to make the gods happy? WTH oh and then we have Breseis throwing herself at Patroclus saying she wants to marry him and have his baby but he can go ahead and keep his gay lover, geez

Omg so now Petaclus is sleeping with his gay lover’s baby mama. He is still sleeping with his man and thinks he will kill himself if the prophecy comes true and Achilles dies. This is a Greek tragedy for sure tragic and unfortunately only half way through it.

Ok so now Patroclus and Achilles are lovers? Wasn’t expecting that one. They both seem to have feelings and Achilles says he will follow him if he goes to war. However now Achilles has gotten a woman pregnant so bye bye Patroclus. I foresee here comes some baby mama drama in Ancient Greece.

I feel it hs taken forever to get to this point. Patroclus has had it pretty bad and he isn’t even a teenager yet. I feel bad for him.

Well we went 83% into the book with out the F word. I don’t remember the last book I read without it but thought this one might. So many subjects brought up but not delved into which was a waste

Ok I am happy this has been a superficial emotional book but some of the things could of should of had a little more depth. I’m hoping the last half delves just a litlle deeper or skips some subjects. Kit is obviously gay and wants to come out but is now w a guy. Nina does nothing for her self but to take her husband back w one conversation come on. I’m hoping for more now

This is my kind of easy read. Yes it has flashbacks but they are sensible and able to be followed. There is life and death, love and divorce, it may not get very deep or hasn’t yet but that’s ok sometimes you just want a nice story to escape your own struggles. Don’t always need though provoking carefree reading is good too.

Really looking forward to getting into this book after Daisy Jones. Enjoying getting to know the sisters.

This is starting out to be. Cute story. She is needing a change and the van is going to provide that.

I am loving this book. I don't know why I never gave it a chance as a child. Anne is quite the character!
