Holy!!! God, this book is so good.

Or so is growing on me like a fungus I also adore May!! Such a good person despite her parents being a shitshow.

Leo is insufferable, even if he is hot. Jurand… you could do better even though I know you clearly love this man.

Woah, did not see that coming! Although, Savine is terrible and the second she did not intervene at the mill I was like yeah, you deserve whatever is coming to you.

I haven’t read a really captivating book yet this year. God, this has me easily hooked already.

Also… is Leo, like, in love with Jurand? Leo spending several paragraphs detailing the beauty of his fellow soldiers and best friends was certainly something! I can only recall him describing women as mean or soft-chinned…. lol.

I’m so annoyed that this book makes me want to go read the others. The flashbacks are cute but I really need to know their big secret and I pray to god it’s not stupid.

So easy to get sucked back into this world. I have a feeling Durzo is involved with the kidnapping of the “twins” just because it feels like something he would do.

On the edge of my seat, I’m going insane in the best way. I walked into a doorframe reading this book on my afternoon walk. It was worth the headache.

I need Vi to die immediately. No redemption arc. Mark my words I will go into my grave hating that bitch. I need Logan to get out of that hole NOW!!!

I read the review that said Brent Weeks was a master of pacing and god, that is so true. I want to read everything he writes from now on.

Pacing is already off to a better start than the last book, which I know was atribuyes to world building, etc, but!! Just a better opening. Kylar and Elene are so sweee together! And Uly, my baby!!

The last half of this book flew by and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Durzo Blint is a softie and a badass, but mainly a softie.

May I dare say this book gets me back into my fantasy bag? Even though there are many moments where I have to reread to make sure I am not confused.

Not Jespyr!!!

This book is undoubtably better than the first. I love Elm endlessly and I’m enjoying the perspective of other characters. I shed a tear just now as Jespyr walked into the mist for Emory, before Ravyn could. Those Yews!!!

Swapped out another book for this one ‘cause I felt it calling me from the bookshelf and 12 pages in, and I regret nothing.

Still interesting. Not the most exciting book, but charming. You want to keep reading to see what’s around the corner, not because you’re ensnared in the current pages.

Someone described this book as reading a dark and twisted Cat in the Hat, and it has made the book 100x more enjoyable for me.

The world is pretty interesting. The pace picked up around page 60 or so, but the beginning was a bit slow. Not bad, just paced weird with the flashing back and forth in time.

Ravyn and Elm are hot. The Nightmare is funny.

I hate Dain so much. He could save the whole world and I would want his head to burst like a watermelon. Giant loser.

Liam coming to Violet while she was being tortured… Rebecca Yarros is a sick, sick woman.

Violet is just so much smarter than everyone. Except Rhi. Rhi is the smartest person in this universe, maybe tied with Imogen. Brilliant women.

Slow start for me. Red just got to the Wilderwood and hopefully the pace starts to pick up soon.
