I might pick this up again someday but for now it hasn’t sustained my interest.

The third time I put it down, I just didn’t want to pick it back up anymore.

When I picked it up, I read all 59% in one sitting but when I put it down, I didn’t have the sustained interest to pick it back up.

I cannot shake away the feeling that the husband only made it look like this open relationship his wife could have was a necessity to justify the affair he had that he only revealed when his wife already had some physical entanglements with that other guy.

Quit enjoyable and this feels lighter than the rest of the things I consumed this week but I just don’t have it in me to continue for now.

I’ve been consuming so much crime lately… from Confessions by Kanae Minato, the TM Logan books, and the hit show Tokyo Swindlers in a span of less than a week. I picked this book up after all of those and found that I may have grown tired from that marathon. I got into this book because I was hooked by the appeal but eventually felt like I can’t enjoy it anymore wherever it’s going…

It reads exactly like the show with no additional layer to the lore.

Interesting premise but my interest couldn’t be sustained for more than 1/4 through.

In a lot of ways this feels like a couple of short stories about improving your way of thinking to improve your life. I don’t necessarily disagree with that but I feel like this books needs to be more nuanced so that I don’t keep feeling iffy about what it tries to say. You’re better off with an essay about “the agentive” by Blommaert if you feel like you have the same slump as some of the characters here.

Boarding school mystery. Not for me.

Every now and then I pick up some romance books thinking I might find something I’d like but alas I feel like I enjoy romance more in films than I do in novels. It’s a feat that I almost finished 1/3 of this one.

Not liking the narration, maybe I’ll pick it up another way someday.

That’s 3 hours of my life I’ll never get back. I just lost the plot. Maybe this is meant to be watched than read.

This is my first Sally Rooney book….

I lost the page I was at and didn’t have the energy to go back or continue. I just saw it as a sign to DNF. Goosebumps with the parallels of the historical revisionism here and the one that we have been experiencing in the Philippines during the Duterte and Marcos era. It also highlights how revolutionary courage is tied to the hope of a future one might not live to see. I might pick this up again in the future.

DNF I was feeling sentimental because the Nancy Drew Notebooks were my gateway to loving reading. I found friends in Nancy B & G when I was in 3rd grade. Picking this up now, I found how this story was largely about a white, middle class girl. While I found solace in not being hyper aware of that when I read it before, now it kinda surfaced some other not so pleasant memories about me feeling poor irl thenlol

It’s a quick read but I feel I have to be in a certain headspace to power through it. I do have plans on finishing this but I’m putting it on my DNF for now since it’s due back at my library tomorrow.

This just doesn’t read like Poirot…. I feel there are more fanfics out there who do Poirot justice. The Poirot here has a tendency to ramble… For someone who’s been doing a marathon of Miss Agatha’s Poirot, I could definitely feel him go out of the lines of who he is here. I love fanfic… truly. But this is just… not it.

Maybe I’ll pick this up again someday but for now, I think the writing isn’t for me

DNF. Not a fan of the tone.

Not a final DNF, I just want to track my progress before I return it to the library. I’m just gonna let the next person have a go at it while I’m busy with my readings for graduate school 🥹😂

Digolas Bickolas made me do it. Lol but I got lost in the prose, tbh. I think college me would have loved this but current me can’t finish beyond this page.

Sooo close to the end but I just can’t anymore.

Maybe it gets better after 15% but I think I’ve just grown out of this kind of writing style.
