So captivating to read about how the different books inspire different people and their lives. That being said am I in the 1950s or the present I can’t tell. And sometimes I don’t think this author knows how to write enough full and succinct personalities and yet she keeps adding new characters that all seem to think like a teenager.

On the surface level it’s a little too similar to the naturals—the character relationships and the mysterious boy but she’s caught between two of them and is special.

I arguably liked this book more than the first one. It kept me on my toes and genuinely wanting to read more. It was a nice change of scenery although placing it in the woods did make it seem less plausible because no kids no matter how special they are know how to survive in the woods. However, the plot line was easy to follow and the twists and turns and flashbacks were used much better in this book.
