Now that I have gotten out of my reading slump... I am ready to continue. My brain needed a break from intellectualism and just needed to shut off and enjoy something. This leads me to believe I am literally John Flanagan's target audience in a single person... Outside of the slight swearing....

*groans in marker stains in a perfectly good book* I shall do what I must to own Rangers Apprentice.

The prose is way worse than I remembered. Borderline horrible in the scope of all the amazing authors I have read as of late. Im coming to this for a break in super brain consuming stories. Something simple and snappy... It is very much that.

The sheer terror and joy and delight and humanity in the birth of Levin and Kitty's son is petrifying. I love them so much right now.

The way they behave together after marriage is comical. Its also making me realize just how expectations of each gender play out... HEHEHE.
We have Levin over here before the wedding: "I am not good enough to be loved by her."
After marriage after a fight: "This is ridiculous! She loves me too much!"

AHHHH! LEVIN AND KITTY ARE TOGETHER...

But what on earth Anna?

Im a little shocked at her arc. And Tronsky's...

Alexi I kinda figured would end up like he is, but not in the way that he did...

Right now, the depth of this book is insanity. Tolstoy is indeed a master.

When you read this book, 300 pages until you really start to get the hang of it, there is just so much to introduce. And then its golden.

I forgot just how much I LOVE Kitty and Levin. They are the sweetest couple ever and... honestly a big page turner for me... there is a reason Tolstoy added their arc. More than likely for the light in the darkness.
I admire Tolstoy for his broad representation of characters and arcs to the same theme. I hope to emulate that to some measure.

I have been plagued by the inability to turn a page. Much sadness. Will consider reading today.

Still not a fan of the cursing. This is the kind of book that is powerful enough that one read is worth it, but I dont need to go back to it. Too much profanity for me.

The prologues were described to me by friends as confusing and hard to follow. I have to say? Far from it. The best narrator intro I may have ever read.
Death, from an outside reader sounds dark and devastating,
This portrayal however, is fascinating and beyond any imagination I ever had and- I feel it is the most powerful narrator this book could have.

"Misery began as it often started. Disguised as happiness"
