I would like to highlight something from Chapter 2. A subheading mentions "Islamic Card Games" but the paragraph mentions Arabs. This doesn't make sense. Just because Arabs practice something it doesn't make it Islamic. Islam is a religion, Arab is a nation. Seeing this cultural and religious mix up makes me wonder how many more similar mistakes must the author have done throughout the book. So euro centric

I’m in one of my girly moods so I decided to read this book. Just to push myself to write about fashion. That’s something I’ve been procrastinating.

It was funny and grim and quite relatable. I liked reading it until the story “The Dreadful Mucamus” it seemed a little racist. The writer could have used better words instead of straight up calling the house help barbarians. Feels like the book needed an editor.

What is it about old novels? These gems have been fixing my focus issues!

Reading this book reminds me of summer vacations. It's so cathartic. Reading it feels like I'm sewing forgotten parts of me back into my body.
