They climbed the wall separating the Fields of Asphodel and the First Court. Peter had a panic attack while climbing, and Alice felt invigorated reconnecting with her old hobby.

The First Court looks like a shifting sea, and they are both ready to keep going, but Peter is scared.

They found some shades of past students of Grimes. They died due to his negligence as a teacher.

They were afraid to move on, afraid to lose their identity. They feared being reborn as “an idiot”.

MC is Alice Law and her rival Peter. Both are phd track grad students studying magick. Alice killed her advisor on accident.

The program she was in was brutal, and her advisor seemed like an asshole. He took credit for work and expected his students to carry him. She doesn’t see it yet.

The book ended. Nona went into the tomb… and fused with Alecto? And John was killed and said “Hello Annabelle?” Idk

Harrow is back, but Nona is in the passenger seat of her body. The group is the in the River. They’re driving a truck to a big tower (tower was also referenced in dreamland in previous chapter).

Nona also gave up and let herself die, but Paul (Camilla + Palemedes) reminded her that Noodle was with them.

Nona’s love for Noodle saved them all.

I think God killed Earth. I think maybe God reached out and touched the soul of Earth, and used it to try to stop the FTL ships from escaping. He nuked the entire Earth to stop people from leaving others behind.

He wasted his chance to save people, and scarred the planet. He killed the rest of the system too, including the Sun.

Gideon’s (?) body woke up and turns out to be possessed by “Gaia”, one of the saints of the Emperor. She’s one of the Tower Princes, like Ianthe Naberius.


Nona has been forgiven by Hot Sauce. We found Hot Sauce’s name comes from the fact that she just likes hot sauce, since it goes on everything. Nona is back in the gang.

Nona and her crew (+ BoE people, [crown, pash, etc]) are looking for the 6th folk.

The corpse woke up!

“Hey Sex Pal, long time no see”

Nona also kissed her before she resurrected, and it was a little confusing… Nona thinks she may have imagined it?

Cassiopeia gave 6th house instructions 15 years ago to escape something. It seems insurrection has been in the works for a while, and many people were in on it.

Pyrha is pretending to be The Saint of Duty to trick Ianthe. Nona is going to break into a Cohort compound to steal the corpse. She’ll have to dress none other than Harrowhark.

Also, loved the codes:

“We corpses in the morgue. None can get to the corpse.”

One of Nona’s nicknames was None.

Huge gunfight. All cards on the table with Angel. Palamedes revealed himself to her. Nona and Cam are shot. Hot Sauce pulled the trigger for some reason on the two, and finally learned Nona’s true nature as the “Lyctor Project” for BoE.

Chapter ended with Nona getting shot point blank.

Final day of school. Angel gave the kids (and Nona) survival tips for the city. Nona gathered the drawings of the classroom doggy, but the science teacher “The Angel” saw Nona’s and was really shocked.

I bet Nona didn’t draw Noodle like normal, it may have included a lot of anatomy and bones and stuff.

“My scientists, my engineer…”

Scary stuff. I guess Ianthe survived… and took Naberius’s name? Typical Lyctor thing.

Nona remembered a Gideon line,

Regarding committing to things completely once you start them

Nona told Hot Sauce a secret, “The Secret”. Idk what it is, but Hot Sauce said “there is an organ market”. Idk man. Also Nona told Hot Sauce she loved her, but Nona says that to everyone. Then they fell asleep holding each other.

Messing with names again…

“Nona guessed again, ‘Born in the Morning.’
You mean `Born in the Morning’.” The repeated name was italicized.

Nona met The Captain (Deuteros) and heard her speak a lot of poetic nonsense. Turns out the words were just screams, and Nona somehow translated them.

Pg 168: “Because I saw her in the waves— she was there in the grey water— I saw them all— they hurt me— where is my hunger? I eat and eat and eat without surcease, my green thing, my green-and-breathing thing…” were all screams.

Just got through part where Troia cell (Pyrrha, Camilla/Palamedes and Nona) met with We Suffer and “Crown” (aka Coronabeth). Nona is the result of BoE trying to control a lyctor without John Gaius’s influence, I think. And Nona isn’t exactly powerful… but she can heal instantly! And she thinks flowers are sexy.

Good so far :)

Lots of updates: Nona dreaming about God, Honesty gets a black eye after helping to rob a convoy carrying people with pure white eyes. Still good :)

Nona met a bunch of kids and hangs out with them. Their leader is Hot Sauce (BoE name, probably). Apparently they are going to kill necromancers later, but Nona’s people have been trying to get Nona away from all the necromancy stuff.
