I just had a revelation about Absolute Superman. I initially thought it was weaker than Absolute Wonder Woman and Batman, but I now see it differently: main-universe Superman is shaped by Clark Kent’s upbringing, while Absolute Superman is shaped by his Kryptonian parents and the childlike innocence from years of helping people without truly socializing after age 12.

Not as good as the first two issues but the Green Arrow killer still shows off some more of his Badassery in this issue as-well. Waiting for each issue to drop is the bane of my existence, I want to get to the bottom of this story so bad.

Wow, this was exactly like the movie. Panel for Scene, Dialogue for Dialogue, and just as fucking awesome. I could still hear the “Ahoo” in my head and got goosebumps when Leonidas said “Spartans! What is your profession?”. Zack Snyder did absolute justice to this book with his hyper stylized adaptation.

This was pretty great. Starting to see what king does with his stories now: he takes non-mainstream superheroes, does his own thing with their origins, and shows you a deep exploration of their minds and character, making them very relatable. I know it probably won’t always work, but I’ve been loving his shit I’ve so far

Short high stakes Tory where people die easily

This is actually a pretty cool idea: evolutionary vampires who create different things based on the race and turning condition of who they infect. And they seem to be executing it very well so far

No way they introduced and killed off Conor Hawk in the same issue. The killer killing Conor(Ollie’s son) just destroyed all my theories about who he could be. If things are this good just too issues in, I can’t wait to find out what the fuck is going on in the later ones

this is actually quite good: wannabe actress gets drained and almost killed by a society of hollywood execs and producers who are actually vampires, but she’s saved and turned by a day walking vampire. An irredeemable outlaw in the eighteen hundreds is killed by a rich vampire for stealing from him, and spoilerily becomes and evolves into a day walking vampire.

That spread of Batman wrapping his spiked, hardened cape around his fist to make a club while wielding his axe on the other hand, ready to take the Robins head on despite the disadvantage was so fucking sick. He basically just found out that his entire life was orchestrated by his enemies, so you just know bro would have taken on even God himself at that point

Can’t wait to find out more about the fox chick, they talk about her like she’s John Wick but anyone can talk, let’s see some action

James know gow to write books that get me hooked. There's just something about his world-building, characters, and dialogue that does it for me every time, and it's no different here

So much happens in this volume. Plot twist and epic reveals. Of course Etienne was right, bro is a living brain who chose to spend years in a body that couldn’t move instead of taking over one that belonged to a white guy. He literally waited for a black guy in a permanent coma to show up, what were the odds of that happening

The absolute universe continues to equip its heroes with the coolest tech ever. Selina has her own Cat Cave, Her own version of the Bat mech, a cool as bike that can also run on four cat-like legs, an Ai in her suit, and a hands free prehensile conductive carbon steel tail that responds to neuro-signals. I mean come on

So far so good sort wise. After is wearing me down though

The writing here actually kind of sucks: there still no reasonable explanation for bro going super saiyen after reading some book, the girl has no character development, she’s just there to the his love interest. The bad guys are the same, the only thing going for this book is the fact that the action and violence cool to look at, IMO.

The story is pretty mediocre but it’s chock full of violence and action. Plus it radiates protagonist goes on a vengeance fueled killing spree, so you know they’ve got me already

Hyper violent and brutal. Kind of reminds me of BRZRKR by Keanu Reeves.

My friend's reviews didnt lie about this one guys: loving it so much I can't stop reading. Just not so sure about the longevity of my tolerance for this art style

This going pretty well so far

The fourth story is about a man whose “time flies” by without him even noticing it. He goes to school, gets a job, gets married, has kids, cheats on his wife with both women and men, gets divorced, loses contact with his kids and loved ones, gets cancer due to his excessive smoking habit, then commits suicide. All the while feeling like none of his decisions were really his, This shit is making me depressed AF

Two parallel towns in different dimensions. The survivors of the town where the world is dying faster decide to escape and take refuge in their town in the mirror universe, and that’s when we see the darker side of humanity, as the initially welcoming citizens of the new town slowly start to turn jealous, and hateful, which spreads to their doppelgängers and leads the new town to the same fate as the old one.

Damn! This one hit really hard. Made me check my privilege and see things through the eyes of another person. “We’re all just cows being bread with no choice at all in the matter”

Not to mention the eerie meta commentary that reflect our current real world problems: someone always making money off the end of the world, cops being assholes, and the meat factory worker who supposedly died horribly in an accident with the factory machine, and you guessed it, the employers didnt give a flying fuck even though the guy had been working there for over 20 years. God Damn!

One issue and a half in, and I can already tell this is going to be sad and depressing as hell: the fact that apocalyptic movies are still trending despite the current apocalypse happening, people randomly dying and being time displaced, and the protagonist(of this issue) literally trying to kill herself at the end. It’s all weirdly working for me though

The art is very good so far, can’t say much about the story yet.
