I like! not much to say, just updating progress

Looking ahead, I know that we meet Rocky in the next 2 chapters. I am very excited. One thing I really like about the book compared to the movie is all the science, I am not a physicist nor am I particularly good at physics, but I am taking physics so I have a basic understanding of astronomy and physics so it's really fun for Grace to be doing some experiment and I understand what's going on.

This is the book I read in all my other free time outside of school (as limited as it is). So far I love this book so much, especially the cover art and I think it's a really beautiful illustration. I'm reading this book on kindle using the libby app, and because of my lack of free time, it takes me longer than 2 weeks to read a book usually, so I always have to renew it, I'm hoping that I won't have to do that again

My progress on this book will be slow and sad because this is the book that I keep in my backpack for school, I just read whenever I have free time in school (we're approaching finals so maybe my progress will be better than I think). I like this book, but I've never read a book that focused solely on romance, so I'm finding myself getting a little bored because there's not too much else to focus on, just a bit slow.

Reading a chapter of this book every day with my partner because we both loved the movie and I like to read. So now I'm making him read it with me. regardless, it's really good, I have not read any of Andy Weir's other books and I have to just point out that I really love his writing style (author voice?), it's just a really fun read and I quite like Grace's inner monologue.

okay well... this was a bad place to stop reading. This book is really fucking heart-wrenching.

I hate when I get a reading slump in the middle of the best part of a book????? I was so annoyed because I had all my midterms, and the SAT, and then immediately after I had spring break, but because I was just so done with everything because of school I literally did not read at all over my break

I think that the more I read, the more I understand what's going on. I notice that I keep mixing up who is sending which letter, and it's starting to make a lot more sense now. The concept of the strands is a little weird, it severely confused me for a bit but I think that it's sort of like different realities and time travel within those different realities. I think; I could be wrong but who cares?

Everything that has happened in this book so far has been so unnecessary. Why did they go to Africa? I don't understand the motivation other than the characters being stupid as hell. I also think that the characters are being overly rude to Manon; like what is wrong with her wanting to be a hot sexy pirate lady. Manon is genuinely the best character in this godforsaken book. (She's also not dumb as rocks)

Ngl I feel a little bit like a perv reading a book about a 13 year old even though I'm only 16

Now she's starting to actually realize she likes Steph. Which is something I suppose.

I fear this book is moving so much slower than it needs too. I'm approaching halfway and nothing has really happened yet.

I want the book to move faster. I noticed this in Malinda Lo's other book but the first half of the book is super slow, there's like 20% where the pacing is perfect, and then the last little bit is soooo rushed. I have a slight feeling that this book will do that too. Also I just hate so many of the characters, the mom, the dad, Lisa, and all her friends back home.

Don't read this book unless you want to cry

Okay so what's up with Nella? She seemed like such a good character but she's starting to be reduced down to a baby she had years ago, with Frederick. Also when Eliza came to her for help with the period thing, she didn't explain periods AT ALL? Like Eliza was so sure she was dying and possessed and Nella didn't say anything other than "its a natural thing" like what?

It's still really good though, just a lil weird

It is indeed split perspective (YAY) but there's at least 3 and I think that's really cool

I love the story with Nella, she seems like such an interesting character and I am very excited to read more about her

Eliza has such a nice quality of childhood whimsy that I find to be lacking in everyday life, and I feel like I can resonate with that

I don't have room for Caroline (sadly) but I will include my notes later

I have to say that the cover is beautiful before anything else.

Okay so I'm only 1 chapter in, I really like it. I think it has a split perspective layout ( I love those so much teehee) I'm very excited to read the rest; my English teacher recommended this book, so I have a feeling that I will like this book.
