Off to a fine start. Very good writing and editing. Similar vibes as The Queen’s Poisoner, which is fantastic.

Great writing and compelling story. This is tagged TA because the mc is a thirteen-year-old, but it really isn’t. Looks like two related series and I’ll probably read all the things.

Excellent so far, and a hidden love story buried within, that's different and interesting. High hopes.

Very good so far, the story is unique and it has compelling characters, even the bad ones. The prologue is violent and Chapter One starts out with the adorable account of happenings during the life of a sixteen-year-old girl. Quite the switching of gears, unexpected and delightful. Things get pretty grim and there's a huge reveal around Chapter Six. Headed for 4.5 stars only because of minor editing issues.

Excellent writing, good characters. Wax on/Wax off consumes too many chapters but still good. Some reviewers complain that this is a rip-off of Rothfuss. Common tropes, as in all Fantasy, yes. Otherwise no.

This has been on my to-read list for months. So far, it’s five stars.

Wow. I was somewhat disappointed that the heroines are two twelve year old girls, but his is great. Just like all his books.

I stopped reading this after the first chapter for some reason. What was I thinking? Excellent reading early on.

This one is likely headed to the DNF pile. Lizard people enslave monkey people and attack frog people. The progressive “Extremist” party is hated because they want to end slavery. Strawman anyone? The writing is good and the book is dumb.

This is the Corthie self-pity book. Ugh

An editor would help this a lot, although it’s mostly well written. (Discrete gets misused a lot.) The middle drags to the point of dnf consideration. Only one of the heroes is 90% self pity but the moping gets stale. Still pretty good and I’ll stick with it. This is free on Amazon Prime right now.

Looks to be another winner.

This book is lame. And I love it!

Stopped reading this a year ago because Sephryn is “painfully stupid” (the words of another reviewer). Might finish, probably won’t. The victimhood thing is not working for me here, although I loved Red Rising. That’s because this book tells me that people are oppressed and Red Rising showed it through personal stories. The writing is good and I loved the author’s previous titles so a few more chapters…

22-year-old goes to middle school. Lots of swearing so it’s not YA. Not as terrible as it sounds, I’ll finish it. Could end up at 3* but more likely 2. Needs one more proofread. The hero’s level-ups remind me of cycling madra in Cradle.

Outstanding start, book 5 was a step down but still pretty good. This one is top tier thus far.

I’m on a big winning streak! This one is off to a fantastic start.

Must read. Hunger games on steroids. This is the author’s best book.

(I wish the blurb didn’t give away the first part of the story.) This is shaping up to be a very good read. This author never disappoints.

Surprisingly good. 17 year old daughter of Lord is thrust into leadership when father and heir, along with 2000 loyal soldiers, die through treachery. This is the story of how she cleverly rebuilds.

How am I just finding out about this? The Queen’s Poisoner series is one of my favorites and this is newer and might even be better.

The story is quite excellent. The characters are, too. Such a pleasure to read, except for the clichés. Minus one star for those, you see them “right and left” as the hero’s sword “rings like a bell.”

The excellence continues while the coincidences pile up. Does the hero really need to randomly run into every single ex-nemesis? Still five stars, though, and I’m stingy. Truly great.

Sadly I’m nearing completion and the second book hasn’t yet been released.

Five stars so far. The only issue I have is too many coincidences. The writing is quite good.

I had no ideas this was out, and the next one is imminent. Great start, and the author does a nice job of catching you up. It’s early, and the writing and story are five stars so far.

The self-pity is painful to read. Headed for the Dnf pile if it continues.

The hero hates princesses, the smarter and prettier, the more he despises them. And his LT love interest is really annoying. Still five stars so far, though.

This book is better than Volume II so far, very well written and exiting to read. There might even have been an action scene where the hero didn't lose his Star Wars Light Saber but I can't be sure.

A lot of excellence, although a huge portion of this is a slog. It was clearly that for the author, too, as there is redundancy with the same conversation described almost the same way with slight differences. Filler. And there's wantum mechanics now. A star wars light sabre. Traveling 9000 times the speed of light. Instant communication across a million light years. I loved the way it started, now it's picking up.
