I still feel like I'm missing a key part in this book for everything to make sense. I can't tell if this is his his writing style, but the way he talks about characters he talks about his friends like we (the reader) already know who they are maybe they were introduced in a previous book but I'm still kinda lost. He also has a kzinsa depressing way to write but ima keep pushing!

Interesting book so far I do feel as if I'm missing some key information with this being the first Jack Kerouac book I'm reading

Hate to say it but I kinda like this book

Gotten better the rat story got me and had me kinda spooked even if it said the n word 30 times maybe that's what spooked me lmfao

The story has kinda picked up and out of all the separated stories in there I'd say this is the second most interesting one. I hate tho that he describes the monsters in a similar way that he describes minorities tho, you can really see his immense racism pour through in that aspect. Also does he think he's cool for misspelling words?!

Still racist af but besides that the story is getting more entertaining I just don't like his excessive use of adjectives and his constant method of it was so scary I can't even describe it but Trust me bro.

So I'm black and I didn't know shit about Lovecraft but holy fuck that's another level of racism right there. Just the meanest descriptions and haven't even recognized anyone that's not white as even human. Jesus dude even for 1910 you've lost the plot. With that out the way he really didn't start with the racism till like 40. And the first 40 pages aren't that impressing and not scary at all. Gonna try and finish it

Most wild book of all time and I love it

Dude how many times I have to reread Odysseus telling yet another person of his journey! I feel like I’ve read this book 20 times in a row the way he repeats himself
