This is the most depressing book I just can’t stop crying

Finally got to reading the second book cuz it’s on kindle unlimited. The first chapter just made me cry because of child abuse. As a mother it physically hurts me to even read about it

Ok started this book because I saw a reel that said this has INTENSE YEARNING and I was like yuh I need that. Anyways 20% in I think it’s the girl yearning for the guy not the other way around

This world is still confusing me 200 pages in. I just need a litttleeeee bit of clarity so I’m not so so lost. I get suspense but if I don’t start understanding something in the next 100 pages this might be a dnf
