whenever i read a philosopher on some other related subject i always wonder why it isnt a foundational text of that discipline. foucault in history, althusser in political economy, nietzsche in classical studies.

apolline = paranoid, dionysian = schizophrenic? seems pretty simple why didn't nietzsche just write a thousand plateaus? is he stupid?

you really start getting the feeling that foucault is the smartest guy ever around here. everything is coming back to the episteme so gracefully and completely. looking at the chapter names ahead, there are some incredibly vast analyses undertaken (ideology and criticism?! psychoanalysis and ethnology?!)

beginning with economics chapter he starts absolutely spamming the thesis. every other paragraph ends with "movements of knowledge across history are governed by the episteme, guiding the general direction of the human sciences" im not joking.
