surprising amount of polyamory and other erotic undertones for a novel of its time. unfortunately, even this doesn’t make it less underwhelming. I am only bothering bc i don’t want to end it after going so far

frankenstein marks the beginning of my physical tbr challenge because 30 books that I’ve bought but never opened is an insane amount. i am still going to listen to audiobooks and borrow at the library but i should not buy anything new!!

i feel like i missed out on huge chunk of world’s culture just because in my russian school we’ve only studied authors from russian empire or ussr. i feel very frustrated because i could read so many good books instead of learning those propagandist soviet poems

ok let’s be serious for a moment. i’ll probably regret reading it before seeing the movie bc it’s always like this when you see the adaptation after the book. maybe i’ll watch it somewhere in the middle of the book
