He makes me THINK.
Oftentimes it is as though he reached into my brain and pulled out my very own thoughts, feelings, and observations on certain topics, writing them articulately on paper.

Starting this one again! Now that I actually have time to sit and read, I am taking advantage of it!

Like yeah it cannibals, but you expect it to go one disturbed way and then this happened and ohmigosh what????

After so many exciting things in the last book, this one is falling a bit flat.
The case is pretty interesting, cannibals are pretty original, if only it would stop getting blocked by Dexter's baby fever(positive) and Deb's baby fever(negative).
And Dexter's brother is back and screwing with his home life. Which. Is really annoying.
The Dark Passenger getting nerfed is cute but also Rrrrrrragshdbdggggfggg

What's really interesting is that the art exhibit in Paris felt more like the brutality of murder and the Actual Criminal Case for this book feels more like an art exhibit in Paris.

I've seen artists with much more psychedelic body horror art than what is being described for the case.

However, the Parisian show impressed me with Just How Original and Unsettling it was. Absolutely Astonishing!

Very good so far!
I am loving the internal struggle Dexter is having with having killed an innocent person for the first time.
Rita is excellent as always, and I love that Cody has been put in Cub Scouts!

Granted, it was only in his mind, but still.


Talk about a slow burn.
They met in book 2 and essentially cuddled on the couch while watching a show together, MB HELD ART's hand, ART did experimental surgery on MB, they part ways on good terms and MB got ART's number. No contact, but a few mentions for 2 books, now MB saved ART's life after getting kidnapped and instantly started arguing, now he's calling ART pretty

MB called ART pretty.~~

I swear they argue like a newly married couple.

ART is dead for half the book and MB is mourning while onboard it's corpse and the second it's back and both of them are able, they're arguing and calling each other unreasonable jerks.

ART: My humans are in danger.

MB: That doesnt mean you can put MY humans in danger. >:(

ART:*crappily apologizes*

MB: Stop being NICE to me! >>:(

This is a great breakdown of how criminality expresses itself through the younger years up to adulthood.
I may not agree with every word written, but the vast majority is something I have really enjoyed having in a worded format.
I have seen and experienced some of this behavior and it is largely unsurprising, yet still it is a bit mystifying as to how they can think this way.

This book is FANTASTIC so far

The characterizations in this book are so gooddddddd!!!
I was getting a little worried halfway through about how they were going to pad the runtime, but then Hannibal escaped and by glory if I don't truly care about Agent Starling and her desire to solve this case!!

Really gripping.

This book is fantastic!!!

Dexter crossed a secret organization and inadvertently made himself a target, which means the whole book is full of mounting tension as Dexter gets stalked and the wedding gets closer; I can't wat until it snaps!!!

Well Dexter's in deep crap this time. Accidentally messing with syndicates. And he's getting married! Which is still hilarious to me.

I cannot get over how dratted FUNNY this book is!!!

I really enjoy how Dexter refers to being nice as 'politicking'.

His mindset is very fascinating, and the fact that he is accurately dreaming of what his copycat rival will do next is ridiculous and intriguing.

I like that the trophies he keeps are microscope slides of blood.

I'm not quite sure where I stand with this book yet.

There is some beautiful imagery and cultural influence, however there are some troubling messages threaded between the lines and some incredibly disappointing widespread romantacy tropes that are slowly but surely seeping into the story.

I am not sure how these things will progress, but I can only hope they get better.

This is fascinatingly twisted.

The whole thing is so fantastically complex and unexpected, and nothing feels like too much of a reach.
