I haven’t been this enthralled by a book since I was 16 and reading Looking for Alaska for the first time. Thinking I read an adolescent’s guide to the world. McCurdy’s accurately depicting in every vivid detail the parts that we try to bury and conceal in order to be appealing to others (men). I feel Waldo’s rage. Her raw depiction of life is impeccable.

I just finished the five separate introductions to the book only to be met with an introduction to the first short story … May by a DNF lol

It’s like Waiting for Godot meets Inception meets Severance. And the contrasting perspectives are a beautiful way to highlight the difference of perception between Orr and Haber. Haber thinks he’s a god who can control reality while Orr is seeing his reality slip away from him as he’s starting to believe in the chaos he’s creating.
